Paraserianthes lophantha – Cape Wattle
Description:
A fast-growing Australian native shrub or small tree with attractive bipinnate, fern-like foliage and distinctive cream to pale yellow cylindrical flower spikes that appear through winter and spring. The foliage can provide useful supplementary fodder for livestock, while the flowers provide food for bees and other pollinators. Dense growth offers shelter for wildlife, and its nitrogen-fixing roots make it useful for screening, windbreaks, revegetation, erosion control, and soil improvement.
