Dalpura Farm is a 140 acre property located at the eastern edge of the Otways in South-western Victoria. George Howson purchased the property in the early 90s and since then has set about the task of regeneration by employing an integrated and holistic process that incorporates permaculture and agroforestry understandings, as well using Natural Sequence Farming techniques to capture moisture and rehydrate the landscape. Over the last 30 years approximately 70,000 trees have been planted.

We began planting our first trees in 1998 under guidance from Darren Doherty using a Keyline design layout, and since then have developed complex multi-purpose forestry systems, silvopastoral fodder systems and diverse re-vegetation areas. As well as implementing various food production systems including a 1-acre market garden and a fruit orchard integrated with poultry.

As the forestry systems have developed we begun milling our own timber as well as offering mobile milling services.

In 2024 we started growing trees for our own planting needs and have since started growing for local markets with a focus on forestry and silvopasture species. We will be running a small mob of cattle on the porperty soon to start experimenting with the established silvopasture systems.

Below are photos of how the property looks in 2025.
